UCSLD
Founded in 1986, the UCSLD is an association that helps provide funding and services to the twelve public libraries in Umatilla County located in Adams, Athena, Echo, Helix, Hermiston, Milton-Freewater, Pendleton, Pilot Rock, Stanfield, Ukiah, Umatilla and Weston. In addition to administrating the funds provided by county property taxes, the UCSLD provides each library and its patrons access to a variety of electronic databases, which can be accessed only by patrons with active library cards. Libraries of Eastern Oregon
A nonprofit organization founded in 2000, LEO provides services to 16 Eastern Oregon counties and rural Walla Walla — covering an area larger than several New England states combined. LEO's goal is to help remote rural libraries maintain traditional services and values that are reflective of the communities they serve, while at the same time convening connection with distant partners that help strengthen the library as the heart of the community. LEO is funded through library memberships, grants and direct contributions from individuals, businesses and organizations. Visit the LEO WEBSITE to learn more. |
Sage Library System
All Ukiah Library cardholders have access to the Sage Library System - an electronic card catalog. The Sage Library System makes it possible for library patrons to access more than 1.6 million books and other materials from over 85 libraries throughout Central and Eastern Oregon. Members can borrow items from other libraries while enjoying the convenience of going to their home library to pick up and return the materials. This procedure of borrowing materials from other libraries is known as "inter-library loans" or ILLs. ILLs are made possible by a courier system that transports materials from each library to a central sorting location, where they are sorted into vans that deliver the materials to the libraries along their assigned routes.
